Has anybody ever attempted to get Cree LED's from Arrow Electronics in Kanata? Cree has them listed as a supplier.

I have looked into this.  The company I work for has an account with Arrow.. However the price they want to sell them at is rather displeasing.  Cheaper to order online and have them shipped to your door I found.

I had called them about a year ago when I was looking into my LED project and they did not carry them locally and would have to ship them in.  If i remember correctly they would only order a VERY large shipment of them (way more that you would ever need) and their price wasn't that great.

I got all of my Cool White LEDs from Dealsextreme which is shipped from China.  The shipping time wasn't that bad, think it took 3 weeks or so and they all come individually packaged in bubble wrap.  My Royal Blue LEDs came from RapidLED and if you buy enough stuff they will give you a discount.  I got my drivers and lenses through them also and they took 5% off plus no taxes i think.  Not huge, but it adds up.

I work in the industry (I sell OSRAM which is direct against Cree) and for the best pricing you should go through the low volume distribution partners. Check out Mouser or Digikey, I believe both would support Cree as well. Unless your going with crazy volume, Arrow won't likely support you.
