A couple observations though.

On the left in my profile box I have a bunch of boxes with red X's for missing images of something.

How do you now see all new posts?  There used to eb an option at the top for all posts since last login or something like that.

All new posts is the link "Show unread"

It is happening on both IE9 and my iPhone.

Yes, the install of the package for the side boxes didn't go as smooth as anticipated.  I'm looking into it now.  They might disappear and reappear without warning.
