I have my eheim 2215 on my planted tank now and have 0 surface agitation. It is heavily planted and moderately stocked. Any issues? It has 3 wpg with DIY co2 and ei doing. Also, can I attach a surface scimmer somehow?

No surface agitation is not a bad thing with a planted tank, it just means less co2 will dissipate. I wouldn't bother with a skimmer if you don't have any film building on the surface.

Like Eric said, if you don't have a film buildup, you don't really need one but if you do, I'd get one since they're pretty cheap and work really well. I had a nasty film buildup on my 25G with LED lighting and it was actually blocking some of the light coming through and just looked plain nasty

15$ and a couple of minute later tweaking the skimmer, you could see a difference. Couple of hours later, the top was crystal clear. Totally recommend, especially if you're topless.

I will wait and see. The tank sits yo high, 5 feet of the ground so when you are on the couch you can see the top of the water.
