I'm just curious... Given that a gallon of water weighs 6.25 lbs, a 7G tank would weigh in over 42 lbs. I can't tell from the photo of the stand, but is that shelf sufficiently strong/secured to withstand that weight?

Also, I assume holes for drain & supply plumbing bits, as well as cooling vent for the 70W MH are yet to be done...

Actually one U.S. gallon of pure water weighs 8.34 pounds. One Imperial gallon weighs 10.022 pounds. Imo, to start with, I would average 10lbs per gallon considering rock, gravel, lights etc.

more importantly, where are the pics of this thing finished up? Last update May 09?

LOL!!!

There hasn't been any progress.
I bought a house in September and haven't had the $$$ or time to finish this project.

:)

I will be posting a bunch of used SW stuff in the classified section. I hope this should help fund the rest of this project!

My basement is finished now I need to bring life to it!

This week I finished making my durso standpipes for the C2C.

Purchased a Vertex Omega 150 (overkill) and more toys to come.

I will keep this thread up to date as my project moves forward!
