These meetings include a presentation or workshop by one of our local members or from expert guest speakes & academics. Topics are wide ranging and we strive to offer a program that is of interest to local hobbyists. Attendance is open to members and non-members alike and admission is free! OVAS Members are encouraged to bring plants, fish, or used aquarium items to offer for sale or trade. This annual auction is a major event on the OVAS calendar as it helps support the club to bring in speakers for our monthly presentations. Everyone is welcome to attend \u2013 you do not need to be an OVAS member to bid or sell. Just like our annual livestock auction, there are always great deals to be had. Fish get bigger and multiply. Our minds add 20 gallons to our tanks when the LFS has a sale. When a friend offers us free aquatic life . . . we imagine our tanks double their actual size! For any one (or more) of these reasons, tanks get overstocked. The annual livestock auction is a great chance for hobbyists to cull their tanks, bag up fish, shrimp, and plants for auction.
