A fish-friendly reminder from the Ottawa Valley Aquarium Society…<\/strong><\/p>\n

Gather your plant trimmings, fish, and live food cultures, it’s time to trade livestock again! Once, twice…, SOLD!<\/p>\n

What to expect:<\/strong> Bargains, tough bidding wars and lots of fun! It’s a great chance to try new species or add to your community tank. You may find uncommon fish, plants & invertebrates, even live food cultures, many of which are homegrown!<\/p>\n

(It is near the former Canadian Tire building on Carling Ave.)<\/p>\n

Bidders<\/strong><\/p>\n

Members and non-members can bid & there is no attendance fee!<\/p>\n

Pick up your bidder number upon arrival.<\/p>\n

Preview of items is allowed before the auction begins & not<\/strong> during the auction.<\/p>\n

The auction is cash only (there is no ATM in the Arena).<\/strong><\/p>\n

Respect the auctioneer\u2019s final call on all lots.<\/p>\n

Consider bringing an insulated bag or Styrofoam cooler for transporting livestock.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Volunteers<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you can volunteer during the event you may be involved with setup, registration, recording, auctioneering, running, raffling, or greeting attendees. Volunteers can still hold a bidding card.<\/p>\n

Consignors<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is a livestock only<\/strong> auction; dry goods are not permitted. Maximum 3 lots of the same species\/consignor.<\/p>\n

To register: download (.pdf), print, complete & bring your pre-numbered lots.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Use the Seller Form and Bag Form formats:<\/strong><\/p>\n

All items must be bagged and labelled properly<\/strong> for sale (BAGGING TECHNIQUE<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Sellers with improperly bagged items may incur re-bagging fees.<\/p>\n

Please arrive as early as 6:00pm<\/strong> to ensure your lots are registered.<\/p>\n

The cost to register items is $1 per lot for OVAS members (or CAOAC affiliated club) & $2 per lot for non-members. No charge for donations.<\/p>\n

Bidding starts at $2, unless a reserve bid is specified.<\/p>\n

Unsold lots are the responsibility of the consignor & are subject to registration fees.<\/p>\n

Payout occurs only once all items have been sold.<\/p>\n
