A fish-friendly reminder from the Ottawa Valley Aquarium Society…<\/strong><\/p>\n

Wait, there\u2019s more this month! Following a successful giant auction (all thanks to our members), we will be hosting the CAOAC<\/a> (Canadian Association of Aquarium Clubs) President as our March speaker.<\/p>\n

Dinner with the Speaker<\/strong><\/p>\n

For anyone interested we will be having dinner with our speaker prior to the meeting at around 5:00 to 5:30 pm.\u00a0 It will be at the Montana’s BBQ and Bar located at 1711 Merivale Rd<\/a>.\u00a0 Then we will head over to JA Dulude Arena afterwards for the Presentation.\u00a0 For more info on the dinner, please see this post<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A Day in the Life of a Professional Aquarist [ Frank Aguirre ]<\/strong><\/p>\n

Frank Aguirre, a lifelong aquarium enthusiast, holds a Biology degree from Mexico City, specializing in aquaculture. His publications include articles focusing on fish reproduction and genetics. And he founded Acuaprof Inc., a successful aquarium-based business\u00a0and aims to educate others on the biology and ecology of aquarium systems.\u00a0Frank organizes the annual biotope competition at CAOAC conventions to promote awareness of aquatic ecosystems. Recently elected President of CAOAC, he leads the governing body for aquarium clubs across Canada, driving the hobbyist community forward with dedication and vision.<\/p>\n

\nMembers are encouraged to set up\u00a0vendor tables<\/strong>, so bring some cash if looking to shop.
\nOVAS <\/strong>will have\u00a0fish bags available<\/strong>\u00a0for purchase: 25 for $3 \/\u00a050 for $5.<\/p>\n
