A fish-friendly reminder from the Ottawa Valley Aquarium Society…<\/strong><\/p>\n

Who said ponds had to big, and contain goldfish?! Our climate allows for so much more! Backyard water gardening can be achieved at the smaller scale as well!<\/p>\n

Backyard Tub Ponds [Eleonore Schmidt]<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Eleonore Schmidt<\/strong>\u00a0is a dedicated fish-keeper with 25 years of experience.\u00a0Her work in many tropical countries has allowed her to blend her profession with her passion for fish-keeping, connecting with fellow enthusiasts and embarking on fishing field trips. Last time we heard from Eleonore, she introduced us to\u00a0anabantids. This time, she will speak on starting small ponds in your backyard to house hardy tropical fish and grow water plants under the sun!<\/p>\n

This meeting also includes our Mini Aquascape Competition (come and vote for your favourite!) and the annual Executive Election for our upcoming 2024-2025 season, starting in September.<\/p>\n

\nMembers are encouraged to set up\u00a0vendor tables<\/strong>, so bring some cash if looking to shop.
\nOVAS <\/strong>will have\u00a0fish bags available<\/strong>\u00a0for purchase: 25 for $3 \/\u00a050 for $5.<\/p>\n
