A fish-friendly reminder from the Ottawa Valley Aquarium Society…<\/strong><\/p>\n

Time to tackle the 2024-2025 OVAS season!\u00a0 Monday’s presentations will look at growing terrestrial plants using aquarium-based systems!<\/p>\n

Presentations<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our Program Chair, Natalia Ospina will introduce us to terrestrial houseplants that can be grown out of the aquarium. This concept can be applied when aquascaping beyond the borders of the aquarium glass and in building paludariums, and it has tremendous benefits. Natalia has been in the aquarium hobby since 8 years old!<\/p>\n

Our Membership Chair, Liam Epp will introduce us to aquaponics systems that combine aquaculture and hydroponics, which allow you to grow edible plants using the waste from aquarium fish. Liam’s background in wetland biology and aquarium maintenance continues to inspire his fish-keeping practices.<\/p>\n
