Dulude Arena<\/a> located at 941 Clyde Avenue in Ottawa, Ontario K2C 4B2<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle2\"><strong>Parking:\u00a0 <\/strong>There is free parking at the venue.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle2\"><strong>Accessibility:\u00a0 <\/strong>There is an accessible entrance with a ramp at the front of the building.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h5><strong>I<\/strong><strong>tem Registration:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle2\"><strong>Pre-Registration:\u00a0 <\/strong>Due to the mini livestock auction being a smaller event that takes place during one of our monthly meetings, there is no pre-registration and no online preview.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong>In-Person Registration Only:\u00a0 <\/strong>S<span class=\"fontstyle3\">tarts at 6:00 PM.\u00a0 <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle3\">No items will be accepted after 7:00 PM.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5><strong><span class=\"fontstyle0\">Auction Schedule:<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle0\"><strong>Viewing:\u00a0 <\/strong><\/span><span class=\"fontstyle3\">Doors open at 6:00 PM for viewing and in-person registration.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle0\"><strong>Start Time:\u00a0 <\/strong><\/span><span class=\"fontstyle3\">The auction starts at 7:00 PM sharp.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle0\"><strong>Closing:\u00a0 <\/strong><\/span><span class=\"fontstyle3\">The mini livestock auction will close once the last item is auctioned off.\u00a0 The duration <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle3\">will depend on the number of items registered.\u00a0 In the past years we finished <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle3\">around 8:45 PM.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle0\"><strong>Vendor Payout:\u00a0 <\/strong><\/span><span class=\"fontstyle3\">Please allow 20 minutes for sales verification time and 15 minutes <\/span>of processing time after closing which we will pay out the vendors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><\/h5>\n<h5><strong><span class=\"fontstyle0\">General Auction Information:<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle0\"><strong>In-Person Registration Info:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle2\">Vendors must provide a vendor form and label their items with tags.\u00a0 The vendor form and tags are available at <a class=\"bbc_link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ovas.ca\/ovas\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/OVAS-Small-Auction-Lot-Sheet-and-Labels-fillable-PDF.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this link<\/a> and they are fillable from your computer.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Blank printouts will be available before the start of the mini livestock auction if you do not have access to a printer.<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle0\">Please write neatly if hand-writing on these documents and provide accurate, helpful item descriptions as well as a distinctive lot number as described on the forms. The standard lot number includes the vendor&#8217;s initials and a number.\u00a0 Volunteers can assist vendors who do not arrive with complete vendor forms or item tags. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle0\">The vendors will hand all labeled items to the volunteers to be placed on the proper table in the viewing area.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li>The starting bid for each item is $2 unless a minimum starting bid is indicated on the label.<\/li>\n<li>Once an item is registered and placed in the auction it may not be removed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle0\"><strong>Table Assignment:\u00a0 <\/strong><\/span><span class=\"fontstyle3\">All items will be assigned a random table number during <\/span>registration.\u00a0 <span class=\"fontstyle0\">The tables are then auctioned off in random order, which we will draw at the beginning of the auction.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle0\"><strong>Bidding and Payment:<\/strong> We encourage everyone to keep their arms raised if they intend to bid on an item in order to speed up the entire auction.\u00a0 The highest bidder will win the bid.\u00a0 Any won bid must be claimed and paid immediately by the bidder.\u00a0 We accept cash and card payments however there is no ATM onsite.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle0\"><strong>Permitted Items:<\/strong> This is an all aquatic auction for fresh and saltwater livestock only.\u00a0 Items such as fish, plants, and invertebrates (corals, shrimp, mollusks) will be for sale.\u00a0 However the following live items are not permitted at the mini livestock auction and will be automatically removed from the auction list.\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li>Native fish, protected species, and illegal species<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle0\">The following invasive aquatic plants are not permitted at the auction.\u00a0 For more details, please refer to <a class=\"bbc_link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.invadingspecies.com\/invaders\/aquatic-plants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this link<\/a>.<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0 \u00a0 Brazilian elodea, Egeria densa. Also known as anacharis<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0 \u00a0 Eurasian water-milfoil, Myriophyllum spicatum<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0 \u00a0 Hydrilla, Hydrilla verticillata<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0 \u00a0 Flowering rush, Butomus umbellatus<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0 \u00a0 Floating primrose-willow, Ludwigia peploides (but not other varieties of Ludwigia)<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0 \u00a0 Fanwort, Cabomba caroliniana<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0 \u00a0 European water chestnut, Trapa natans<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0 \u00a0 European frogbit, Hydrocharis morsus-ranae<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0 \u00a0 Oxygen weed, Lagarosiphon major<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0 \u00a0 Parrot feather, Myriophyllum aquaticum<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0 \u00a0 Water fern, genus Azolla<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0 \u00a0 Water soldier, Stratiotes aloides<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0 \u00a0 Watermoss, genus Salvinia<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0 \u00a0 Yellow Floating-heart, Nymphoides peltata (but not other Nymphoides)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Donations:\u00a0<\/strong> If desired, vendors can mark an item as a donation to OVAS, in which case all proceeds from the item are donated to the club.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Item Limits:\u00a0 <\/strong>The maximum limit for identical items is <strong>three<\/strong>.\u00a0 Please group your items accordingly.\u00a0 You can register more than three identical items if you choose to donate these items to the club. Please indicate this during registration or we will automatically mark any item that exceeds the maximum limit as a donation.\u00a0 OVAS reserves the right to combine similar lots from the same vendor in the interest of time and getting items sold.\u00a0 Each single vendor is allowed to register a total maximum of 100 items.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Handling Charges:\u00a0 <\/strong>There are two rates of commission.\n<ul>\n<li>Vendors who are OVAS club members will be charged $1 per item.<\/li>\n<li>Vendors who are <strong>not<\/strong> OVAS club members will be charged $2 per item.<\/li>\n<li>Any unsold item must be claimed by the owner at the end of the auction.\u00a0 Unclaimed items become property of OVAS.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong><span class=\"fontstyle2\">It<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"fontstyle0\"><strong>em Packaging:\u00a0 <\/strong><\/span><span class=\"fontstyle3\">All live items must be packaged appropriately.\u00a0 Fish bags are <\/span>preferred.\u00a0 Closed glass jars are accepted but should be avoided due to the risk of broken glass.\u00a0 Plastic buckets may be used for bigger live items.\u00a0 Any bag\/container must be sized appropriately.\u00a0 Clearly diseased or deformed live items will not be accepted.\u00a0 OVAS reserves the right to refuse any live item that is not properly packaged.\u00a0 Please refer to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ovas.ca\/ovas\/auctions\/bagging-fish\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span class=\"fontstyle3\">bagging instructions on our website<\/span><\/a><span class=\"fontstyle3\">.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>A bagging station will be available for emergencies<\/strong> <span class=\"fontstyle3\">at the cost of $1 per <\/span>bag, paid toward the club.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5><strong><span class=\"fontstyle0\">Item Catalogue: <\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n<p><span class=\"fontstyle3\"><span class=\"fontstyle2\">Due to the items only being accepted an hour before the start of the event, there will be no printed list of items and there will be no online preview.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5><strong><span class=\"fontstyle0\">Vendor Payout:<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle3\">Vendors will be paid out in cash at after the close of the auction as described in <\/span>the above schedule.<\/li>\n<li>Vendors will be provided a receipt from the Auction Chair, vendor will confirm the amount by signing it and then take it to the Treasurer for pay out.<\/li>\n<li>If you are unable to stay to the end of the auction please contact the Auction Chair.\u00a0 You will be mailed a cheque within 14 days at a cost of $1.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Ottawa Valley Aquarium Society (OVAS) will be hosting its Mini Livestock Auction on Monday, November 24th 2025. at J.A.
