class=\"fontstyle3\">auction via <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ovas.ca\/auction\/lot_list\/Lot List 2026 Big Auction.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the online registration portal<\/a>.<\/span><span 9:00 AM on the day of the <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle3\">auction.\u00a0 No items will be accepted after 10:30 AM.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span class=\"fontstyle0\">*** In-person registration is a last resort meant to deal with technical issues.\u00a0 OVAS does not have the time or resources to handle a large number of in-person registrations.\u00a0 Please pre-register your items. ***<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle0\"><strong>Registration Requirements:<\/strong> <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle2\">Please provide the following information for each <\/span>item you register as part of the registration process.\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle2\">Item description<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle3\">F<\/span><span class=\"fontstyle2\">or hardware only, new or used.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle2\">Minimum bid, if you wish to designate a higher bid than the default minimum <\/span>of $1.<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle2\">Donation (optional). Proceeds from the item are donated to OVAS.\u00a0 OVAS <\/span>receives 100% commission for this item.<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle2\">Priority: Items marked Priority are auctioned first for an additional fee, <\/span>assessed at the end of the auction.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5><strong><span class=\"fontstyle0\">Auction Schedule:<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle0\"><strong>Viewing:<\/strong> <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle3\">Doors open at 9:00 AM for viewing and in-person registration.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle0\"><strong>Start Time:<\/strong> <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle3\">The auction starts at 11:00 AM sharp.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle0\"><strong>Breaks:<\/strong> <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle3\">There will be 15-minute breaks every 90 minutes or so depending on <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle3\">auction progress.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle0\"><strong>Lunch:<\/strong> <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle3\">We will break at around 12:00 pm for lunch.\u00a0 Chips, cookies, hotdogs and <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle3\">drinks will be available for sale with all proceeds going back to the club.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle0\"><strong>Closing:<\/strong> <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle3\">The auction will close once the last item is auctioned off.\u00a0 The duration <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle3\">will depend on the number of items registered.\u00a0 In the past years we finished <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle3\">around 4-5pm.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle0\"><strong>Vendor Payout:<\/strong> <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle3\">Please allow 20 minutes of sales verification time and 15 minutes <\/span>of processing time after closing, after which we will pay out the vendors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5><strong><span class=\"fontstyle0\">General Auction Information:<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle0\"><strong>Table Assignment:<\/strong> <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle3\">All items will be assigned a random table number during <\/span>registration. The priority items are all auctioned first, followed by the other tables in a random order drawn at the beginning of the event.<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle0\"><strong>Labels:<\/strong> <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle3\">OVAS will provide labels for all registered items with the information <\/span>provided by the vendor.\u00a0 The vendor will confirm the correctness of the labels and can provide additional information if desired. Please make sure the label is clearly visible and affixed properly.\u00a0 Vendors will then hand the labeled items to the OVAS volunteers to be placed on the proper table in the viewing area.\u00a0 Once an item is registered and placed on the table it cannot be removed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span class=\"fontstyle0\">*** If a vendor registers an item that they have not brought to the auction, they must bring the item\u2019s label back to the auction chair so that the item can be removed from the system. Failure to do this results in unsold item fees for the vendor. ***<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle0\"><strong>Bidding and Payment:<\/strong> <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle3\">We encourage everyone to keep their arms and bidding <\/span>numbers raised if they intend to bid on an item to speed up the auction.\u00a0 The highest bidder will win the bid.\u00a0 Any won bid must be claimed and paid immediately by the bidder.\u00a0 We accept cash and card payments.\u00a0 There is no ATM on site.<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle0\"><strong>Permitted Items:<\/strong> <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle3\">This is an aquatic auction for fresh and saltwater livestock like <\/span>fish, plants, and invertebrates (snails, corals, shrimp, mollusk, etc\u2026) as well as aquatic dry goods in new or used good condition.\u00a0 However the following items are not permitted at the auction and will be automatically removed from the auction list.\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle3\">Used heaters and air pumps<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle3\">Used light bulbs of any kind<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Used airline tubing<\/li>\n<li>Plastic plants<\/li>\n<li>Invasive aquatic plants (e.g., Brazilian elodea, Eurasian Water-Milfoil, Hydrilla, etc\u2026).\u00a0 For a complete list, please refer to this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.invadingspecies.com\/invaders\/aquatic-plants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span class=\"fontstyle3\">link<\/span><\/a><span class=\"fontstyle3\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Native fish, protected species, and illegal species<\/li>\n<li>Opened or expired foods and medications<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Item Limits:<\/strong> <span class=\"fontstyle3\">The maximum number for identical items is <\/span><strong><span class=\"fontstyle0\">three<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"fontstyle3\">.\u00a0 Please group your <\/span>items accordingly.\u00a0 Identical items past the third will be automatically marked as donations to OVAS. Each vendor is allowed to register a maximum of 100 items.<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle0\"><strong>Vendor Commissions:<\/strong> <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle3\">There are three rates of commissions.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li>All pre-registered items will be charged a 25% commission.<\/li>\n<li>Items registered after the pre-registration deadline by OVAS club members will be charged a 32.5% commission.\u00a0 NO EXCEPTIONS.<\/li>\n<li>Items registered after the pre-registration deadline by non-OVAS club members will be charged a 40% commission.\u00a0 NO EXCEPTIONS.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Handling Charges:<\/strong> <span class=\"fontstyle3\">OVAS will keep a handling charge for any unsold or missing <\/span>items.\n<ul>\n<li>$1.00 for any regular listed item that did not sell.<\/li>\n<li>10% of the minimum bid indicated for any unsold item with a minimum bid higher than $20.<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle3\">Vendors are allowed a maximum of five missing items or 10% of total items <\/span>registered, whichever is higher.\u00a0 Once this threshold is reached, a handling fee of $1.00 per missing item is assessed. Please return any item label that is not being used immediately to avoid this fee! This rule is meant to overcome excessive registrations.<\/li>\n<li>Any unsold item must be claimed by the owner at the end of the auction.\u00a0 Unclaimed items will become the property of OVAS.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong><span class=\"fontstyle2\">It<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"fontstyle0\"><strong>em Packaging:<\/strong> <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle3\">All live items must be packaged appropriately.\u00a0 Fish bags are <\/span>preferred.\u00a0 Closed glass jars are accepted but should be avoided due to the risk of broken glass.\u00a0 Plastic buckets may be used for bigger live items.\u00a0 Any bag\/container must be sized appropriately.\u00a0 Clearly diseased or deformed live items will not be accepted.\u00a0 OVAS reserves the right to refuse any live item that is not properly packaged.\u00a0 Please refer to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ovas.ca\/ovas\/auctions\/bagging-fish\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span class=\"fontstyle3\">bagging instructions on our website<\/span><\/a><span class=\"fontstyle3\">.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>A bagging station will be available for emergencies<\/strong> <span class=\"fontstyle3\">at the cost of $1 per <\/span>bag, paid toward the club.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5><strong><span class=\"fontstyle0\">Item Catalogue: <\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle3\"><span class=\"fontstyle0\"><strong>Lot List:\u00a0 <\/strong>During the pre-registration period, an\u00a0ongoing live preview of the lot list will be available via <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ovas.ca\/auction\/lot_list\/Lot List 2026 Big Auction.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the online registration portal<\/a>.\u00a0 After the pre-registration is closed, a link to the lot list will be made available on the OVAS website.\u00a0 This list will not include items registered on-site.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5><strong><span class=\"fontstyle0\">Door Prizes and Raffles:<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle0\"><strong>Tickets:<\/strong> <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle3\">Anyone can purchase door prize tickets for a chance to win an item <\/span>donated by one of our generous sponsors. Door prizes and raffles will be drawn throughout the auction.<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle0\"><strong>Pre-Registration Benefits:<\/strong> <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle3\">Vendors will receive one free door prize ticket for every <\/span>10 registered items. If you register at least 75% of your items before the early registration date [date] you will receive two additional door tickets.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5><strong><span class=\"fontstyle0\">Vendor Payout:<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle3\">Vendors will be paid out in cash at after the close of the auction as described on <\/span>the schedule.<\/li>\n<li>If you are not able to stay until the end of the auction or otherwise desire etransfer payment instead of cash payment, please advise the auction chair <strong><span
