Hi all,
I am planning on going, but have a busy month around then, so just need to make sure that I have that weekend free.

As long as I am going, I will have a car that can be loaded with a couple of people, and a room I am willing to share.

I had the chance to meet Wim Heemskerk about 2 years ago. He is specialised in blue eye rainbowfish (Pseudomugil et al) and a fishing mate of Gary Lange. He keeps and breeds fish that very few people have in the hobby and species that Gary Lange lost. I am not suprised Durham chose this theme as there are some rainbowfish enthusiasts in the club for which I brought some of Wim's fish.

Hans Georg Evers (former editor in chief of Amazonas) is also worthwhile listening to. I was lucky to hear him speak on several occasions about expeditions to Asia and South America.

All in all a much better speaker programme than last year and worthwhile attending.

So I'm thinking about going but other then the speakers, there isn't much information. Is it like a typical convention, with vendors setting up displays, and products for purchase? Can anyone provide a little more information about what we can expect?

Jody

Hi Neon!

The CAOAC conventions are lots of fun.
Beyond the speakers are various shows going on, betta, guppy, killifish, general show and Biotope competition. There are vendors, auctions and  a party room hospitality suite. The banquet is excellent, and it is always fun.
Plus checking out stores, visiting fishroom and just hanging out makes for a great weekend!

Check this link for more details about our 2018 CAOAC trip, and some of the fun that we had.

Hope you can make it out!
