Java fern for sure.
Anubias will do well, some crypts (Cryptocoryne), hornwort, pennywort.
You could try straight or spiral Val (Vallisneria).

... oh and hygro (Hygrophila polysperma)

50 watts in a 15 gallon?  Any low or medium light plant will do fine.  You can also deal with most high light stem plants... but carpeting high light plants might not do as well.

You've got a well lit tank for its size.  What type of lighting is it?  NO, CF or HO?

i'm not sure...i don't know where i got it from. i think i picked it out of the garbage. that's how i got two of my tanks.
it says eclipse natural daylight on the bulbs and made in japan for marineland.
not sure what it is.
i also have a fifteen watt one with "warm white" written on them. can a bulb like that grow plants? i was thinking for a five gallon.

I think you can pretty much grow everything in this tank :) You may want to limit yourself to plant that do not grow too big and tall though. Even carpeting should be possible and is you ideal for a not so tall tank like a 15gal. I have a tank with similar conditions and it just thrives everything ;D But you may take a look into CO2 and nutrients too ...
be aware of the green side
