My planted tank is slowly being taken over by what I believe is Brush Algae (small clumps of a dark hair like algae).  Its all over my Hygros, dwarf sag and westeria.

Will a SAE take care of this? or should I just keep removing leaves?  although I can't seem to keep up with it and its driving me nuts.

any other solutions?

It may be a lag of CO2, my planted tanks suffered from this. Since I added CO2 and try to keep the level sort of constant the black brush algae seems to be under control. Check these two threads out:

Thread 2

SAE are known to go for BBA when they are young and desperatly hungry. But for a 21g they may become to big after a while. Removing all affected leaves is definitely a good thing to do when fighting BBA.

I do plan on moving my 21g to a 55g in the new year after I'm finished setting up my 10g nano.... and then i'm sure the 10g nano will turn into a 21g nano  ;D

well I can tell its probably the Co2.  I was running Co2 but my hygros were growing over the waterline every couple days so when my Co2 mix was done I decided not to start it and thats probably why i have all this BBA.

Anyone know where to get the Plant Gro Co2 System Bubble Counter these days? petsmart and BA's dont seem to cary them anymore.

Did you try Aquarium services , also i`m sure someone on the forum has one.Try a wante post in the classified.

You can also do the black out routine but you still have to fix the cause after.
