Mark all messages as read

If I select "Mark all messages as read" the screen refreshes and it shows that I have no message to read, if I then click on "show unread" there are always a hand full of message that reappear.  To get rid of them I have to check them off and then click on "Mark selected read".

What's up?

Happens to me unless I use Mark All Messages As Read on the main Forum page: http://ovas.ca/index.php?action=forum

If I use the same button on the Show Unread page... well, it doesn't always work.

I happen to believe that it is an "honestly" button, it makes an accusation following having lied to yourself by pushing the "mark all read" button when you know you never read any of it at all.  So the second button you push asking it to show unread, causes the program to offer the truth and it says "honestly, you silly knigget", "you expect me to lie for you too", "you never actually read all those posts and now you want me to show what you haven't read".

It is enough of a dichotomy to render the code of any program to fall over laughing.

And yes, as the APW said, you garnpet and you as well deadfishchick, are beyond the slightest doubt, "special people".

I am not special, but I noticed an idiosyncratic of "Mark All Messages As Read" too. Although messages wont show up as unread messages they are sometimes still marked as "new". This also happens if i switch between two computers. Btw, I am using firefox.

I just found this thread.
I've been having this issue @ work and @ home for quite a while now.
am I the only one (special) who the "Mark all as unread" isn't working for?
I even tried the Mark all selected as read.
None of these options work.
When i click the "show unread"
I always get the same posts!

I would have to wonder if your web pages are being refreshed as you reload the pages or if you are getting cached copies.  In order to test this, do your "mark all as read" as you normally would. Then, if you still see new messages, try pressing the <shift> key and click on the reload button (the little arrow on your toolbar). If that clears the messages, your browser is configured to provide you with cached documents to save bandwidth.
