Well it is Wednesday still have 4 items from the auction not dealt with. Every auction for a week after I am re-arranging, re-organizing, RE something or other... LOL

I have Japannese moss ball to figure out where it goes, 2 bunches of Glossostigma elatinoides to plant, & a microworm culture to get set-up for harvasting... That is a good post auction work load... Geeze will I ever learn? NAH!  :D

Tell me about your auction projects, rejects, good & bad... how many things end up back at auction... best deals... just curious because I always end up making more work for myself...  ::)

This was the first auction I didn't buy anything.  :)

Crumpet

I bought tonnes of plants (well, for me, anway  :) )  I'm particularly happy with the nice java fern -- beautiful root system.  Now that I'm having better plant growth (thanks PFG!) I'm looking forward to seeing them take over the tank.  Have I planted everything yet?  No sir, still floating after their rinse  ::)

My clowns are waiting to go into the main tank.  They are little buggers full of energy and are looking nice and healthy and eating well.

When they said they had clown loaches it was no shock to see you raise your hand then leave it up. How many now? I am guessing you like the little clowns... LOL

Brine

I brought my new friend Garrett. He is 9 years old and has a 30G with some Gouramis in it. He was the kid with long blond hair and a red shirt that said "captain" on it. I've known his parents for years but never met him until Monday. I just happened to run into his mom the other day and after talking a bit it turned out she was trying to find something for him to do Monday night while she went to a class. When I heard he had an aquarium I offered to bring him to the meeting. He bought some yellow labs and I bought some Cichlid food for him. He LOVED the presentation and the auction...I think we might have a new member there.

I bought a beautiful Demasoni that I had not planned on. I have three bare tanks but I just resiliconed them Sunday so then I had to buy a tank for him. I got a 10G at the auction. Then I got some Cichlid pellets as well.

Until about 3 weeks ago I had a 90G I got from Babble and that was going to be the only tank for a while. Then I got the carboy (bottle) and decided a Betta would be cool in it....now I have the 90G, the carboy, a 10G, a 15G, a 25G, and a 35G. Damn!! MTS has struck again  :o
And I plan on going to Montreal on the weekend ....YIKES!

fischkopp

Got a piece of wood - looks good on top of the tank :)
be aware of the green side

Vizerdrix

Amazingly enough, all the stuff I got was all set-up that night! :D

The oodles of bags of plants are all planted (except for the floating ones of course!), the juvie kribs are settled in the 65g, and those poor LV cichlids are traded for some Mountain Minnows.

I was up until past 11 pm on Monday night planting the 65g!

Maybe I'll leave before the auction at the next meeting... ;)

Fishnut

My shrimp were put in their own tank an hour later, the plats are still soaking in plastic containers so I can make sure I remove all the duckweed and my new 10 Gallon tank is in the basement.

I took home that bag of guppies that nobody bought because their owner left them.  Unfortunately, the water was bad in the bag, 2 guppies had died and by the time I got them home, they were all looking in rough shape.  Only one survived the night.  They were to be used as feeder fish for my finace's blue crayfish so it had a feast of dead ones yesterday and I think the survivor might end up as the lone fish to keep the feeder tank cycled.  After surviving such an ordeal, I think he deserves to be saved :).

Nerine

I didn't buy anything but Diane shared a piece of plant with me...it's still floating in a bucket :D hehe
55 Gallon: Zamora Woodcats, Gold Gourami, Severum, Convicts
Misc tanks: Glo Light Tetras, Harlequin Tetras, Danios, Platies, Guppies, Otto cats
Breeding: Platies, Guppies, Convicts

I have a pail of plants sitting on the floor since sunday that were supposed to go into the auction but things got a bit crazy at work and I didn't have the time to make it into the city for the meeting. There is one nice Ozelot sword in the bucket that I should save, but I am stuck with either messing up my mostly re aquascaped 55 or starting up an empty 10 for it ::)

renadia

Well I bought lots of plants  :D  A blue Lobster, clams and limmer's brother gave my son some cute little sherry shrimps  :-*

The plants are still in the bucket except a few I planted Monday night so the sherry shimps would have more hidding spaces.

The clams I have not seen them open but they have moved and the shimps are in Vincent's pirate tank,  mmm  thinking of getting him a 20 gal  ;D  The 10 is pretty full.

The bleu lobster is in the 75 community and lives on the left side under a pot and has come out a few times  ;)

Mettle

I've never been to one of the auctions. I'm definitely missing out.  :'(

Vallely4

I also MUST be missing out! :D
Never been to one myself
Terribly dissapointed I missed my first opportunity this past monday.  But there's always next. (January? :-\)

Anyone have any tales of Saltwater auction purchases??

Fishnut

Most of the time the auction is filled with plants and fresh water fishies.  There is usually a decent supply of stuff as well.

So THAT'S where the sword plant I was looking for was sitting, no wonder I couldn't find it on the auction table.  ::)  You must rescue it and not let it die in that bucket.  :'(  Clearly, you are partially immune to my Jedi mind powers, as I was willing someone to bring one of those to the meeting. I must be more focussed next time to deal with longer distance mind control.  You people in the boonies are tough.  :D

I didn't buy anything directly, as I was busy running around at the front of the room during the auction. I tried to get Babble to bid for stuff for me; I think fishycanuck had to kick him in the leg once to get his attention to bid on Zap's moss balls .  ::)  Thanks to dan2x38, who sold us a moss ball after the auction, I did take something home.  Easiest thing to put in a tank, just drop it in. Of course, I had to armwrestle Babble for it in the end.  ;D

*kicks ground*

I was working during the meeting. I was almost tempted to phone in sick to go to the auction :D

Knowing my luck the weekend guy at work that has a 100 S/W tank would have been there though and told the boss that I was "Real Sick Looking" when I was bidding for that larger tank & those greco roman aquarium decorations... ;D

*sigh*

I cut mine into several pieces. I kept the largerest one. I wanted some small pieces for my nano planted tank. If you guys still want I can bring another piece to the Christmas party? It would be from Santa... ;) It only takes about 6 weeks to grow out with fair lighting. This way there might be piece at Christmas within the Force:o

PS- who won?

Considering I offered Babble a piece off of one of mine, I would say they BOTH won! :D
