Hello :)

I need to replace the bulbs in my power compact light but i forget what size of bulb to get. The fixture is 30' and there are two bulbs in each light and they are are 4 pin and are 22.5' long from end of bulb to end of pin. There is two lights in the fixture(total of 4 bulbs). The bulbs are 65W and 6500K and this is for a freshwater tank with plants.

Is it considered a 22' long bulb? Where do people usually order their bulbs? What "k" should i be looking at for fresh water?

Thanks for the help,

Carl

yes its a 22" bulb. I'd stick with the 6500k.

JLaquatics.com has good prices for power compact bulbs... also there are a few stores locally that sell them but are really $$$$$$

Awesome! thanks for the reply! I'll go check them out..

You can also use the 10000K for growing plants, i use a combination of 10000k & 6500K, it is beleived that the 10000k encourages more bushy growth.

As for your sources you might want to try Buchannan lighting , i think they can get a 55 watt ( not sure on the colour spectrum & the 55 watt will work just fine ) I know of 2 local sponsors that also carry the orignal coralife 65 watt in the 10000 K at a good price, that would be Aqua Valley & Ray ,( that`s where i got mine but i`m sure there are others).

If it's the same PC bulbs that fit in the AHSupply kits, I have a used 6700k and 5500k bulb you could have for cheap.
PM me if you're interested.
