So I have been looking at my rock in the 150, and I think I'm going to have a horrible time aquascaping it, Does anyone have larger pieces they want to trade for some smaller ones? I know most of it will be tossed into the sump when we get it in (going to happen once buses start) I was thinking of gluing the rock but if I need to separate it again how hard would it be?

nissannx

you can drill the rocks and insert plastic dowel found at home depot to secure the rocks. you won't have to worry about them falling

Sounds like a good idea If I can't find a bigger piece, Im mailing looking for the larger ones to keep the natural shape.

good luck with the horseshoe crab and the sand storm that comes with it.

By the way, what's the fish that's in most of your pictures?

Thats a bullet goby he is about five inches right now and makes a mess of my sand bed, he scoops sand and food into his mouth and filters the sand out of his gills

I'm going to need some help around June TO MOVE THE 150! were moving....into a bigger home (or at the least one with a finished basement)

Tank empty weights about 400 pounds plus I have around 300-400 Pounds of live rock, stand and canopy.

You would be Given a bit of money for gas and time.

For obvious reasons I can't lift it...I'm shorter then most of you guys and have a hard time to lift the canopy! :'(

Also Once zee tank is moved livestock is being put into tanks (30g 10g and 55g) so It can be drilled and a sump installed.

Speaking of sump if you ever come across a 80g or larger cheap,no leaks, don't care how scratched it is for a good price around 50$ let me know.

BTW my naso tang is a tad retarded, He flails at his reflection in the glass and does what mom calls a "jiggy dance" it would make for home's funniest home videos because he does it in five min increments.

What make is the 150? It should not weigh that much... how thick is the glass? My 180 Miracles (6'x2'x2') can be lifted by 2 strong people and it's 1/2" glass.

The people that lifted it said it Weighed around that, and It's an all-glass I think.

Get the glass thickness, then calculate the volume of glass and from there use the density of glass and you can get a reasonable estimate of the weight. I think 400 lbs is on the high side for a 150. but possible I guess if it was 3/4" glass like my 195.

I expect based on 1/2" glass it would be about 275-300 lbs

so lets see...
72x18x29

2x72x29x.5=2088
71x17x.5=603.5
2x17x29x.5=493
----------------------
3184.5 cubic inches of glass
go here to get weight http://www.allmeasures.com/Formulae/static/materials/15/density.htm
So 299.9 lbs

Aquarium is starting to look good  :)

Looking at your fishes, I saw that you had
a foxface and a flame angel.

Things to know about both if you consider going with LPS/SPS:

Foxface:
Rabbitfish are typically considered reef-safe as they will ignore invertebrates. If not fed multiple times daily, they may choose to graze on some corals, including Soft Corals and Large Polyped Stony Corals.

Flame Angel:
Generally safe, but may nip at corals, clams, etc.

Keep a close eye on your angel as they are hit or miss.  Mine started feeding off my coral after 4 months being in the tank and he was fed 2 times a day.
