hey guys,
Im getting tired of filling the tank manually everyday so im wondering what ppl use/recommend to use.
I have a 33g display with a 20g sump.
i don't want anything too big because i have limited space in my return area of the sump..

lemme know!!

I have a line running from my RO/DI to my sump and an airline valve to control the drip. It's not an auto top-off per se but it's pretty much foolproof and keeps the water level constant. One drip per second equals about a gallon per day. I have the line teed off to my RO container so I can still make water for water changes.

The line (clear tubing) runs from my laundry room to the sump/tank (about 30 feet away) along the baseboard fastened with white phoneline clips and is virtually invisible. Total cost was $10.00, $5.00 for the tubing and $5.00 for the clips.

110g saltwater/reef

I was walking down the street and a man was hammering on a roof top and he called me a Paranoid Little Weirdo. . . in morse code.

I got mine from here:

I got the double float (safety) and it works great for me! I just throw RO/DI water into a large bucket every week or two, whenever i'm running low. It makes my life so much better to not have to manually top off.

and if you get an ATO set up, you should look into getting this pump for it

Mine just came in the mail from big al's online but I haven't set it up yet!

I have a 2 gal jug suspended from the ceiling in the unfinished portion of my basement about 5 feet away from my DT.  Using a standard airline tube, I have it siphoning into my 30Gal DT (in the finished portion of the basement). Flow is metered using a mini-valve picked up in a group buy (thanks Focus-Fin). My drip rate is about 1 drip every 3 sec.  It keeps the water level constant (as long as I remember to keep the jug full of water)

Works like a charm, no fuss, no muss.

I use the RO/DI unit, pressure tank, floats.  you can find the pressure tanks for $25 on ebay.  I also got the drinking water faucet on the sink rigged into the same system

hey people so this is my auto top off gravity fed system.
easy, inexpensive and straight forward

once u get the drip right its all good from there.....but you may have to tweak it every once in a while!!
right now its doin 1 drip every 3seconds or so....not exact im just goin with it. not a prefect science. dripping too much....make it drip less or vice versa until its stable

C-Dog,
Can you provide more information on your design?

It looks like it is a siphon that is valved at the aquarium end to cause a drip but my understanding is a siphon works from High Point flowing to low point, your image shows the bucket well below the aquarium?

I expect he is dripping into his sump.

thats right...its going into my sump, the rim of the bucket is alot higher then where the valve is.
