My old system was a 65 gallon with a 30 gallon sump. Im now thinking I want something a little bigger. Im thinking a 120 gallon 48" x 24" x 24" tank. with a 50 gallon sump. The only part of my old system remaining is my 36" Aquactinics TX5 light. I was wondering if this light would do for a 48" tank? I know its a long shot but I thought it would be worth asking/

Thanks all

Vincenzo.

120 g .. make a 120 g sump :D ...

and if you wanted you could have the light pushed right to one side and have a piece of non lighted area, with non photosynthetic corals/ low light corals, if you wanted... thing is the 120 will be deeper and wont penetrate as deep as you would like it to. Id go with new lighting.

I wouldn't do a 36" light on 48" tank unless you wanna do something like vince said which is a good suggestion. Along your theme of selling and upgrading...  get yourself an 8 bulb sunpower or powermodule and be done with it  ;D.
