That is truly amazing... is it real?  I mean, can you get a plant to grow and 'stay' hovering like that?  It's right out of some fantasy book... I expect to see dragons flying around...

huh? that is weird... but very cool!  it must be attached somehow or it would float around with the water movement and most likely on the surface and not half way....  anyone knows how to do this?  it would be great for fish who prefer a darker spot to rest during the day!
60g guppies, female bettas, bushynose plecos, cories, apistos
2 x 5.5g male bettas
10g bredding tank for bettas,
2.5g male betta
20g, divided with babies (bettas, plecos and cories)

It could be a plant that is rooted into a piece of wood or another type of material that the plant just covered the material and was just heavy enough to keep it suspended.

The material probably floats and the wieght of the plant holds it just below the surface which would allow it to move around with the current in the tank.

Just a guess but could work depending on the plant and material.  And highly possible.

You could do this using styrofoam covered in cement (Just like how they make the tank backgrounds) and then using fishing line to tie it to the bottom.  Atleast thats how I would do it.

Interesting setup. I believe the floating is just an impression that we are supposed to get. The base must be mounted/glue/fixed to the background in some way.

In one setup, I had an acrylic back panel. This panel was used to hold wood pieces in place, which were virtually coming out of the back.
be aware of the green side

sorry been busy with exams ... yeah .. the floating island is an object attached to the back.
a small castle on top would make this just perfect  :)

Looks like heaven under water !

I'm with fischkopp on this one.
I would bet it is attached to the background somehow and simply tricked by the camera  8)
