What colour coraline algae do you have? I have the typical purple with a tiny bit of red, very tiny bit of green and some orange I seeded with from another tank. Would like some more colours like the greens & reds. Maybe some of us could swap scrapings to seed other colours? Either way curious the other colours you guys have?

I must say I started using Purple Up (calcium/aragonite supplement) about a month ago and have seen quite a wonderful increase in my pink/purple and even green Coraline algae.

Not a massive increase, but enough for me to say "Hey, check it out!"

I think an exchange is a wonderful idea!
Where and when?

if the purple-up is a calcium supplement: would it help for other heavy calcium dependent residents as well (clams, hard corals, etc.)?

First test for anything before supplementing. Use a Ca supplement if it is low like Kent Turbo Calcium or another. There are liquid ones too. Got the cash and room for it get a Ca Reactor! :)

No room for a Ca reactor, sadly.  My calcium levels are usually more than adequate.  I need a weekly scape with a blade to keep the coraline off of the three visible sides of the tank.

I was just wondering about the effectiveness of the calicum in the purple up.
