Egg crate as a tank divider

Any one ever tried this?  I was thinking in  terms of separating tank mates that would feed upon eggs/fry, or to allow a partially nipped tail to regrow?  Not as a quarantine for illness...

TIA

Vincenzo.

i used egg crate to divide a Rubbermaid when i moved my tanks into 1. i divided it into 4... 1 was live rock, 2 was corals, 3 was community fish, and the 4th was the frogfish on his own.

Should work well, the only concern I would have is the fry being able to get through into the side that you are protecting them from.

Vince thanks...Not being a salty I'm not sure why the coral, community fish and live rock need to be separated, and I assume that the Frogfish has some characteristic that makes it "special".

Brent:  nature has a way of eliminating the weak ones...and if something were to go through the egg crate the "wrong" way, then I would call that the Darwin effect.  :-)  I haven't even got my Discus pairing off yet yet, let alone laying eggs...But I am preparing myself  for the day when it happens.
