Thats it exactly!
I dont think mine has an ohm reading on it, but either way that does not matter as it would seem that the plug was able to rule out the controller which is excellent!

Sorry to revive a dead post but I have found a way to make an adjustment to my accurate but low PH probe connected to a reefkeeper. Basically in relation to every other test kit or hand held pinpoint PH meter my reefkeeper was about .3 low. I bought a new probe and nothing changed. So what I did was bought some PH calibration solutions and did a calibration. I was still at .3 lower than I thought it actual should be. After calibration I stuck the probe in the 7 again and it read 7. I stuck the probe in the 10 again and it read 10. So I adjusted the calibration solutions with some lemon juice. I made the 7.0, 6.7 and made the 10.0, 9.7. I used the tinniest bit of lemon juice to bring them down this little bit and used my probe to see how much they had dropped. Now that my solutions were .3 lower for both I recalibrated. It actually worked. It has been two days and it is staying accurate. It gives me the same reading as my test kit is giving and the same reading as my buddies pinpoint PH meter. Now I am 8.0 just before lights come on and 8.2 by the end of the day. It was driving me crazy to see my PH at 7.7 or even 7.68 before lights came on. Even though I knew it was off I just didn't like seeing those numbers.
