I was just at homedepot and bought a ppm water tester while i was there. Fully digital. 16 bucks. accurate to 0.5ppm.
Just tested my tap water it came out to 65ppm. Not bad for downtown.lol
tested my ro unit, all 00000.Great

its made by intellitec( wpt1000xl )

wow, 65ppm is pretty low for tap water.

Mine is 700ppm but not ottawa water.

I picked one of these up before xmas too. I compared it with my fancy Hanna tester and it's surprisingly accurate. Good buy for $15.

The only annoying thing is that the light goes off too fast.

and yes leemay. TDS (total dissolved solids in the water)

Wait til spring - I'm sure the TDS will jump once run-off hits the river and they start dumping more stuff into the treatment plant.

I believe that last year mine rose to 100+ in the spring and then settled down to about 85.
