Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone knows of anyone in Ottawa who stocks the Hagen Glo T5 fixtures?  I'm looking for the 36" single.

Also, have you seen this chart?  How does it compare to your actual experiences with these fixtures?

Pretty sure petsmart carries them

Petsmarts had them on clearance in the spring.  I am kicking myself for not getting one then (a dual bulb).  I have not seen them at petsmart since that time.  I personally have seen the single bulb versions and they are bright! (for a single bulb), and I can also say from experience that the double bulb (I just bought a used one) is also quite bright (much brighter than my brother-in-law's Aqualife fixture using the same brand bulbs.  I think it helps that the fixture does not have a splash shield.

Yep, petsmart definitely doesn't have them.

Malyon, that's exactly what I'm after!  A very bright single... .for cost of bulbs and electricity to run.  Especially since I'm planning to put it over a fairly shallow tank, and don't want to get into the realm of 'high light' and all the accompanying extra work.

If you look at the chart, the hagen ones have lower operating costs AND higher lux reaching the bottom of the tank than many of the dual fixtures..

There were a few of these fixtures at Fishtails in Orleans a few months ago - can't recall if they were single or double bulb though. PM them to find out if they still have some. Or do a LF in the Classified.
