Hagen makes (made) 5 AC HOB filters

20 (mini)
30 (150)
50 (200)
70 (300)
110 (500)

The four smaller ones use the same A-6 motor, but different sizes of impellers. How do you identify the 4 different impellers for the A-6 motors?

1 210g Asian Community planted fast water tank: balas, tiger & black ruby barbs, red-tail black shark, rainbows, loaches, SAEs, gold CAEs, 1500GPH river flow, plus 1500gph filtration.
1 75g African planted tank: 3 synos (had them since the 90s), yellow labs, kribensis.
1 40g breeder, silicone-divided into two - quarantine and nursery.

Size of blades and length. The 70 has 6 blades, 3 smaller units have 4. I think.  Why do you ask.

dpatte

OK the 70 has 6 blades.

and the 20 30 and 5 all have 4 blades, but different sizes?

I'm selling off a bunch of filters, and want to ensure I provide the right impeller for each filter.

Blade length and surface.  Regardless the filter capacity is more a function of volume of box and the intake size.

I have all the filters except for the AC50 (200) model.

Looking at my spare parts, the 20 and 30 impellers do indeed have four blades and is about 4.5 cm long.  The 70 impeller has six blades and is about 4.8 cm long.  If I were to guess the 50 probably uses the same impeller as the 70.

i seem to have impellers that have 4 small blades (presumably for the 20s), and some that have 4 long blades (presumably for the 50s). But I have none that are mid sized, so I'm a little confused what the 30s take.

My 70s have 6 blades, as you say.

Can you maybe stick each of the impellers in the AC50 and see which one seems to fit better?

The Hagen and BA's website are no help as it lists each impeller as a different model.

Actually the 50 uses a four-bladed one as well.  I still have my really old AC200 (50) which I bought in 1986!  It still have the original impeller from back then.
