Any suggestion for a good battery-operated air pump?  I have a 32.5 gallon Fluval aquarium.  Thanks.

I have the blue one that takes two D batteries. You can buy them from marine scape or amazon. Works ok in a power outage

I'm interested in the ones USB/battery ones from Cobalt Aquatics that are act like normal air pumps when there is power and switch to battery mode when the power goes out.

Haven't found anyone in Canada selling them yet though.

If you find the usb ones that are also battery operated somewhere, please let me know so we can do a group order

Check Sails or Calbela (Bass Pro) in the fishing section, used them to keep minorrs alive.

I got a Hurricane Category 5 (professional Ac/dc Battery Operated Pump) from http://www.petsandponds.com/ but it seems they don't have any more. What is cool about this is it has a rechargeable battery and when the rechargeable battery dies out you can pull it out and place 4 C cell batteries in to keep it running. It also has a pulse where it comes on for 30 sec's turns of for 30 sec giving it 24 hr run time as apposed to 12 hrs on full. And of course when the power comes back on it runs off of AC and will re-charge the re-chargeable battery when placed back in. This save all my aquariums last summer when my power was out for 4 days. I live 1/2 kilometer from the Merivale Hunt club sub-station when it was hit so was lat to get power back.

It can be found on

but it is kind of pricey I paid $40 less at pets and ponds, but they don't seem to carry them any more could ask.

Wow!  a back-up system to a back-up system!    Yes... very pricey but worth the investment ;-)  Thanks.

I'm using a computer UPS for a central air pump

I was in Critter Jungle yesterday and they had an air pump that had battery backup. I didnt take to close a look at it though so you'd have to call them or go in for more info.

FYI, I found this air pump online (Deep Blue Professional ADB61037 Hurricane Category 5 Professional AC/DC Battery Operated Air Pump TopDawg Pet Supply 894389 at $65.69 US) which seems to be the best one on the market:  https://www.dlgxclmarket.com/deep-blue-professional-adb61037-hurricane-category-5-professional-acdc-battery-operated-air-pump-topdawg-pet-supply-894389-p-346333.html.
