Hi,

I am wondering if anyone has a Gh/Kh test kit that they could test their water coming out of the tap and post their results?

My Kh is changing color on the second drop, and my Gh is changing to a really pale green at four drops. My kit is not expired.

From memory that sounds about right. Med-ish gh and fairly low kh. In the winter the kh can get even lower and wont even register on my test kit, or if the city is flushing the pipes.

Thanks for the info, I always thought we had very hard water... My koi are used to very high Ph/Gh/Kh, so I guess I will have to buffer with crushed coral and baking soda.

I haven't tested lately, but the last time I did I believe each reading was 3.

Water is very soft.
My endlers don't seem to mind it though.

I use Seachem Equilibrium along with crushed coral to keep things stable.

KH: <20ppm ... 1 dKH
GH: 20-40 ppm
PH: makes no sense because after aging for a day with a bubbler, I am still at 7.4 ish.

Our tap pH should be closer to 6.x.

Likely additives (sulphates or another "ate") is buffering it out -- my own thoughts.
