Nerite Snails

Over the last 2 weeks Ive purchased 2 nerite snails a week apart from a local fish store....
Each one has died - even after acclimating to tanks with around 5 nitrate, 0 Amonia and around 7.5 PH.
They each didnt thrive, never saw eith one of them come out of their shell. Purchased each one a week apart.
As an experiment I grabbed a little nerite at pet smart yesterday and he/she is doing normal snail things in one of the same tanks.
WTH is going on..... Im perplexed!

- and yup confirmed they were dead - the smell - oh my the smell.....
