Here's what happened when I tried to feed my Brittle Star a shrimp.  It's got it but the Perc, Hermit Crab, Coral Shrimp and Banded Coral Shrimp all seem to want a piece of the action.  The star won.

Funny!
Mine never getting out from the rocks, you may just see its "hands", but thats all.
... And cleaner shrimps always winners :)

The Red Brittle has been moving around a lot during the day but I have another smaller striped variety that I haven't seen since I put it in the tank 2 weeks ago.

Very cool, Nelson.

I don't know why... But the brittle stars are something that have intrigued me a lot in terms of sw livestock. I find them incredibly interesting. Maybe because of my obsession with starfish and all things related when I used to live on Vancouver island? Heh.

Very cool indeed!  DYK brittle stars aren't very closely related to sea stars (starfish)? They're in a completely different class!

Nope. Didn't know... In my mind they're all 'stars' so that's good enough for uneducated me. ;)    But thanks for the info. :)

Yes I got rid of it but I'm not particularly proud of the way I did it.  It was really causing problems and had to go and my only choice was to remove all my LR etc. to get it out which was not someting I wanted to do.  One day I saw it go behind my overflow and a quick pull on the outside and it was trapped, but I pulled so hard I killed it.

Not yet az.  The tank is still very young and I will be adding another 20 lbs of LR soon, so I will be fragging some of the coral to spread it around.

squeeker

Love the cardinal.  I think they re one of the neatest SW fish!

I do too.  It's a new addition and I'm a little concerned because I haven't seen it eat anything in the three days it's been home.

Julie

Nelson, what coral is on the sand bed in the last image?

Thanks,
Julie

It's an almost too large Green Tipped Anemone.  Tentacle to tentacle is easily 10"
