need advice about corals

hi,

    i bought real dried coral that comes from gulf of mexico and i want to put them in my cichlid tank,how do i make them cured or whatever it is to be safe in a freshwater tank with cichlids,will they eventually fall apart?i would like to make my tank look as much as possible like a saltwater tank by using different corals but of course dried coral and in a safe way

any advice would help
