While taking my tiger lotus out of my tank today, the "bulb" part came off of the main part of the plant.  Which part do I replant in the tank?
1 fish, 2 fish, <°{{{><  , <°{{{><

I've been looking for one of these plants myself.  Being that I am no expert, I'll share what I read.

The tuber is the important part and this is what you should replant.  However if your tuber is of any size this is also the chance to make multiple plants simply by cutting the rhizome in half or fourths and replanting.

Hope this helps.  If you like I could put some of the links here.

Replant both into your substrate, give the bulb some time to restore it's energy, most likely you will have an extra tiger lotus for sale very soon!  ;)

Lucky you - tiger lotuses (loti?) were very popular at the Mtl Auction :)

between you and babblefish, I think you bought them all :)

Mettle

One of my favourite plants.

They seem to do so well no matter what tank or conditions I plant them in. They're just great. And love the colouration/look of the leaves.

Fantastic plant.
