Opinions: Magnum 350 BIO-PRO System

It turns out I just won a Magnum 350 Bio-Pro System thanks to one of the ACA Cichlid Conservation Fund sponsors (Marineland).  Yay!!

Does anyone have one of these?  I have never used one, wondering if you're happy with it?

Also, anyone have a US Mailing Address I can have it sent to?  Marineland won't ship out of the country...

I have a HOT Magnum and love the micron cartridge.

dpatte has a 350 Magnum, so does bomag

The biggest complaint with them is the minimal amount of media space.  Excellent mechanical filters, average biological filters (not including the biowheels)

I had a 350 magnum pro running on my 33. It was great, polished up the water beautifully and even had a little python tube you hooked up to the intake to vaccuum the gravel. Only problem with it was that the biowheel assembly won't fit on new 40 gallon due to the center brace (wouldn't be an issue on any tanks wider than 36 inches though). I could have run it without the bio wheels, but I'm saving up for an ehiem.

BTW. This is how I get parts shipped to me in Ogdensburg NY... lots of my riding buddies ship their parts there. Never had a problem with them, they're in the mini mall next to PC Foods and across the street from Wally mart.

Thanks for the info RK!  That's what I'll do.  I'll either make the trip or convince another OVAS'er to pick it up on their next trip to Ogdensberg (from what I understand this is a common trip for some on here).

i have both 350 and hot magnum, love them both, very quiet too, u will have 0 issues!

Well, surprisingly my new Magnum 350 showed up yesterday at my house, without any communication from Marineland.  Guess they made an exception to their "we don't ship to Canada" rule!  Very cool.

I'm very impressed with the concept of this filter, as I don't see a lot of talk about them.

Great filter , best of both worlds ( mechanical & biological) only reason i parted with mine is because of the bio wheel out gassing CO2.
