Anyone feed it?  Frozen or dried?
My cleaner is very gregarious and devours the mysis quickly,  I'm wondering if the cyclopeeze would allow my clown goby a nicer feast.
thanks

I feed the frozen bar variety to my smaller fish, they like it. The larger ones don't bother with it - Cyclop-eze  is so small that possibly they can't see it.  From what I've read on other forums the dry isn't popular.

Is your maxima strictly a filter feeder?

redbelly

I feed the flake to my fish and they love it. all of the fish and all the shrimp come out to get a bite of it.

ToX

All my fish go nots for it, espacially the tangs... its like crack for them. I use the frozen bar. This reminds me that I have to buy some more ;)

Julie

Where do you purchase it?  AC/marinescape?

For sure...clams are filter feeders.  I cultivate my own phytoplankton for the clams and everything else that feeds through the water column.

No, I have a separate set-up for that purpose.  I've attached a rather dark photo of it.  You start with a culture disc from Ivan (AC~$20), a bottle of f2 Formulae Algae Grow, same price, and that's it.  As for equipment, I built a box to contain the 2L pop bottles and a lighting fixture.  Lighting doesn't have to be strong at all and the heat generated keeps the grow at around the optimum 78 degrees.  I also installed a $10 miniblind to contain the heat. You also need an air pump, the size will dictate the number of bottles in production. Phyto grows extremely quickly so your biggest challenge will be using all that you grow.  After the initial cost the phyto will cost you nothing - much better than a $20 bottle of the commercial stuff.
