Hello, i'm just trying to reseal an aquarium and was curious when would you say it would be complete drying.  Some of the clear silicon has started turning white.

the rule as i understand it is; when the silicone smell is gone its dry and should be ready for water,

minimum is 24 possibly 48 hours depending on how think its put on

Well the only reason i ask is because i resealed before and i thought it was dry after 4 days but the silicon leaked into the water.  I lost a fish last time.  So i was looking for a rule of thumb type of thing but the smell appears to be gone.  Do you know if using a heatgun as a drying agent might change the properties of the silicon like not sticking properly?

one thing i wouldent do is use a heat gun.
just use %100 sylicone, and let it dry for 48hrs at least. make sure it says for use on aquariums. alot say not for use on aquariums, so look out for thoughs ones.

When I just got my 77 gallon, I stripped and reseald it.  Let stand about 72 hours, put water in and his has been fine.
