fish disappearing!

fish missing from my flat reef, started with 11 chromis, now i got 2 mean ones! last fish to disappear is a 6 line wrasse...i put him there 3 wks ago...saw him last wk fighting with one of the 2 chromis...since then i haven't seen him. do i have a killer chromis?
could it be something else?

AZ....Give me all your corals,that way there is nowhere for them to hide
and therefore you would be able to see where your fishies are going..LOL.
But in serious matter...........have you got any type of carpet anemones
which are getting quite hungry or perhaps your fishies have died and have become
prey of mantis or again anemones!!!!!!!.......
have you looked around the tank?, perhaps they have jumped? off the tank
just an idea.......

I am sure that you have done this but do your pumps have foam or something protecting the intakes,ie: mag or powerheads. A mag can turn fish into yummy fish food for others to enjoy...

Az, have you checked the tank with a flash light at night?  Also when do the disappearances occur?

chromis are a strange fish, sometimes it can take up to 10 to get 2 that live long enough. also, in saltwater when your tank is healthy the dead fish can disappear over night with worms and hermits and some snails taking care of business.
I went thru 9 of them before 1 survived for no appearent reason.
