Wow, that is quite the case, I'll bet it sits on the coffee table rather than under a desk, you guys are such geeks. DD must have used the glow in the dark poster paints, and then hung a "black light" over it to make it glow, poor mans neon.

BigDaddy

It used to sit on the desk as opposed to under it.  Nowadays, our lovely member luvsfishies is the proud owner...

babblefish1960

Oh that is just too wild, won't luvfishies get blind from all those lights though, I guess they aren't the cathode x-ray version.

How could you part with such high end art, you must be losing your geekdom.

BigDaddy will never lose his geekdom

Damn straight.  Geeked out and proud of it!

babblefish1960

Well there President geeked out and proud of it, you'll be pleased to know that I ordered a number of cathode tubes from the coolerguys, as they were incredibly cheaper than the limited stocks of local origins.

In fact, I had the people that APW suggested make fun of me, as it is so out of fashion now as to be too embarrassing to admit that they ever supplied such passe stuff.

Anyway, we'll see how long it will take to actually arrive though.

Now Babble were you wearing your leather jacket?
Imagine what they would say if I asked for them...

I was actually wearing a plaid shirt, I'm not sure they could see that over the telephone though(you never know with geek sites though).

As for you asking them, they probably would have put it down to some crazy lady. ;D

Did they have that nasally voice when they laughed? Kind of like what the Nights Who Say Ni would sound like if they were trying to laugh derisively at someone?

Julie

Matt, they're just simply not with the program...that's all.

Wow, made fun of you?  They have(had) a wall of modding gear along the back of the store.

Glad you choose coolerguys though... you would think it would be more expensive shipping from the states, but far from it!  And I can vouch for the quality, they definately are some of the brightest kits out there.

They made fun of you?  Really?
Oh yes, and the more I tried to explain the deeper the hole I seemed to be digging got, it was most humiliating, in retrospect, I should have told them that the super geek DD sent me, but they might remember you and that might have made things worse yet. :D

... sigh ... I guess that would make me Geekmistress of the Geekdom  :D

Babble, why didn't you just say 'I want to Pimp out my aquarium?'

That's probably what got him in trouble in the first place :D

babblefish1960

You two big sillies, you had me startle the cats with raucous laughter over that one, I'll be sure to use that line, "pimp out my aquarium", next I enquire about such fringe equipment.
