In an effort to not hijack fender316's thread...

A reference book would be helpful, any store will misadvise a tad to make a sale.

What would people recommend as a good SW reference/fish book.

I like Natural Reef Aquariums availible on Ebay.
There's another one so many ways to be a better salt water keeper and it's not bad.

I have corals by borneman but it's everything you wanted to know and more,,,,,it's the book I generally fall asleep to at night.

I also have the saltwater fish survival manual and the reference book on fresh and salt by by simon&schuster, no salt gobies in it though.

I bought a hardcover at chapter called "Complete Encyclopedia of the Saltwater Aquarium" :(Nick Dakin) last Christmas. It was full of big glossy pictures and fancy words. But now that I am actually looking for info I find the book mostly fluff.

I know you asked for ones to recommend but I just thought I would mention one that looks real good until you have it for a while and realize its shallow.

Are you looking for a book about tank setup, etc, or about fish species in particular?

Fish species.  Can you recommend one?

Thanks,
Andrew

This one here is a pretty god reference, not quite comprehensive, but covers most of the ones you'll usually see.

Do you happen to know if it is on the shelf at BA Innes?

We have it, but its a bit dog eared, as its one of our common references. Might want to ask Jody to order another (or check with Kanata)
