Who's got one and what do you think?  I bought a koralia 1 last night and was unimpressed.  I cannot imagine how it pushes 400gph.  I know it's diffused, but my AC 30 which is rated 174gph feels twice as strong.  Just didn't seem worth the $50.   ???

Life is too short to wake up with regrets.  So love the people who treat you right.  Forget about the one's who don't.  Believe everything happens for a reason.  If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands.  If it changes your life, let it.  Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.

I got the 1200GPH 2 weeks ago and IT IS GREAT.  GOOD BYE to red slime algae because of low flow area.

It got a much more better flow than my maxijet 1200.  I have an AC something the largest one and that is what i replaced putting in the Hydor Koralia.

I watched groan's work, and it seems to move the entire tank around, not just one teeny tiny stream like a regular powerhead.

RoxyDog

hhhmmmm...weird.  I put my hand in front of mine and it was like a gentle breeze or a tickle, not 400gph.  maybe I'll try the 2 instead.

I have 2 number 4s and 1 number 1 in the 120 and there doesn't seem to be any dead spots at all.  I'm very happy I bought them and got rid of the maxijets (not to mention the lower wattage on the Koralias).

I have a 1....it's not like a jet stream but I can see a large amount of water moving around the tank so in that respect it's more like wave action which isn't a focussed movement.

i also noticed in my 45g i have a koralia 1 and it doesnèt seem to be too strong. it does seem to displace alot of water tho but i think ièm going to buy a 2 or 3

groan

i plan to get another K2 soon and i'll get rid of the standard ones.

Although I'm not quite positive (but sure I read) that Tunze is suing Hydor for patent infringement.  I think that they have stopped producing the Koralias in the meantime.  So I can only imagine that stock will become harder to get.

Can anyone confirm?

The koralia is on the bottom of the list (price wise).  I don't think you can mod a maxi jet for the cost of a koralia.  It's in the same catagory (wide, despersed flow) as the tunze nano's & Ecotech Vortech.  I have not seen anything cheaper than the Koralia that does the same job.

i just picked up a #2 today and it moves alot of water...if you really think of how it moves the water then it does move lots..its dispersed around not a single stream and pushes heaviest at the impeller part. personally i think it moves lotsa water and wanna get another one

You are correct but they are still being made.

I've got 2 #4s in my 75, and I love them, there's a huge amount of flow in there.

Hopefully my new Hydor Magnum 5s will not work as blenders in my 120 Gallon....
