After 23 years my 66 gal sprung a leak. The leak is about 1/4 of the way down and the leak was fairly bad but in one small spot. Should I remove the side glass or just reseal? This tank is still in excellent condition with very few scratches.

I have resealed another tank once and it lasted but I have never taken a tank apart.

Hi
Never break the seal of the glass. All you have to do is to redo the surface seal (the so call v on both pieces of glass). You should redo it from top to bottom. The secret is to make sure rhat the glass is cleaned off of all old silcone (razar and alcohol.)
Because of the size of the tank you need a fairly heavy bead. Use some masking tape on both sides of the glass (corner) about1/2 in from the corner as guide to make a fairly staight line
Using a chauling gun apply the silcone , then using a wet finger smooth down the bead, remove the tape as soon as possible. Let the silcone cure for at least 48 hours. Ie make sure you apply silcone to the area of the leak first
