Its been bugging me for a while now What does bump stand for? I see it all the time here.

If someone has a thread that they want to bring to the top of the new messages list they post a BUMP in their thread, bumping it to the top.

When I see a post from you and a FEW others, I know I should read it. But if it gets to BUMP, HELLO, and the     be sure I'll drop you too.

Better than that ... just post a question and WE will GOOGLE it out ON you.

I dont believe I've ever posted a simple smile or "bump".

To me, if it deserves a bump, something should be said as a reason or explanation...

The only use for "Bump" in my opinion would be if you have something for sale that's still available after a period of time.  Situations change and what you didn't need two weeks ago you may need today.

Good point, but: "Bump - item still for sale, still interested, ETC" should still be pointed out.

yanno, an easy way to make the post counts more realistic would be to exclude all posts in the Lounge.

....or remove the Lounge entirely and restrict posts to aquarium related subjects exclusively.

Personally I don't think the post counts have any importance.

I think the fact that the webmaster (also a knowledgeable fish person) has less than half the number of posts as the top poster shows the number is irrelevant.

I think the lounge should stay. It's a good place for people to express their opinions and get to know a little personal side of us all. I believe we are adults here, not sure if all the people are of age, but as adults, we should respect the thoughts of others providing they are not degrading, racist and so forth.

As for people posting a zillion times, let them. We don't have to read or respond. That's my two euros.
