hi, i'm finishing a project and needing a source for thin flat plastic panels. The stuff i have in mind is the material that is white plastic (corrugated on the inside) and usually used for making things like temporary signs etc. Black in color would be best but i can always paint over the white if needed. Prefer a light  weight material also. The thickness would be similar to wood paneling. Anyone know where you get this thin "plastic cardboard" type material? I have not tried home depot. Not sure if this is only avail at a place like Michael's or a sign shop. Pretty sure i've seen it somewhere.

A few months back i was at a fellows place getting some cheato off richmond rd and he told me about these thin black panels he used as part of his aquarium stand setup and maybe said canus had this material but not positive. Not looking for solid pieces of acrylic, looking for something less rigid and that can be cut with a pair of good scissors or exacto. Styrofoam won't do the trick as the durability isnt there.

any suggestions?

Home Depot definitely carries it. It's with the plexi-glass and acrylic.

Rona near me (the one at Merivale & Hunt Club) also has this, and has it in lots of colours, including black.  I got a sheet there not too long ago, and they even made 4 cuts for me at no charge.
