Hey all,

bad news, Looking for a solution,   On my 55 gallon tank I am running an XP3 and while cleaning it this morning one of the locking levers snapped and I need a whole new canister now, what a cheap design,  the replacement part costs 90$, I will probally just end up buying a brand new filter for that price,  I tried electrical tape to keep a tight seal but it just breaks,  does anyone know of a good fix ? If not I will order a new one from bigalsonline tonight but I really dont want to have to do that.

Thanks.

I recently went to Can Tire and spoke to a sales guy in auto... I had a leak in my car side window ...(.$60 bucks to reseal..)  the sales guy sold me a powerful silicone stuff  " GOOP,automotive ",  in a tube, 3.7 oz, that repairs everyything from runningshoe soles , etc.. and on car vynl it works beautifully !...     Thin coat in the crack first !! and make sure you clamp it, or use a good tape , and tape it tight , let dry overnight !!!
Next day a surface coat, let dry again, and a third coat will seal forever !!...
The glove comparrtment hinges broke through the vynl , and the whole door would fall out and off... gook , did the trick !!!.....
Good luck sonny !!!                                                John P....
Another stuff called GORILLA GLUE , good for wood, stone, Metal, Ceramic , etc I bought at Lee Valley tools, they`ll mail it to you out of Ottawa..."overnight express ! "

GOOK is a very good product but if that fails you can pick up some acrylic cement at M&T Glass that I've found gives an extremely strong bond.  Couple of ounces and an applicator for around $3

I though about "gluing" the pieces back together but they shattered and are few and far between. I would be afraid of it giving out and shooting water all over the place while I was away.  right now im looking at ebay.ca  and might be able to buy a full one cheap hopefully.

thanks everyone.
