Been awhile since I've posted here... I've bought some plants locally of OVAS members, but I'm not sure who is still selling plants.

Now that Superpet is no more, I guess it's harder to come by Tropica plants... Any suggestions on the best source of plants in Ottawa?

Drew

I purchased some very nice plants from Big Als in the east end yesterday. I also stopped into Petsmart after that and was quite impressed with their plant collection.

Which Petmart did you go to?  Because I visited a couple of the old Superpets that Petsmart took over (Merivale and Kanata) and found their plant selection was very lacking.

you should ask Zima, he's prob has whatever plant your looking for.

You can find nice plants at BA just after they received a new shipment. I have been always surprised by the quality you get at La Niche. Even Superpet has a nice plant every now and then.

But apuppet is right: if you are looking for something in particular then just let us know. There are many plants kept by the people here that you will  rarely or never find in the LFS here.

Thanks for the promo, apuppet  ;D. It's true, there are many hoobyists that have a large variety of plants. If you're looking for a particular plant, I would post a LF in the classifieds and I'm sure someone will reply to it.

Thanks for the replies guys.  I ended up getting some new plants from a couple OVAS members I've bought plants from in the past.  You guys know who you are. ;)

I'll probably keep checking/posting in the classifieds when I'm looking for some more.

I just trimmed my tank yesterday and have five pails full of different plants.  If you want some get in touch.  There are snails in the tank so if you want some you would have to clean them well to avoid the snails.  Sorry I have never really identified the plants.  There are five different plants.  red veined ones when matured, long string one the similar to an onion plant, 20- 30 swords ranging in size from 1-2 inches up to 5-6 inches,  ...

I will identify them tonight and do a post in the classified.

Any advice from anyone reading this on how long you can keep plants in pails?
