how many cichlids can 120 gallon tank hold???

Just wondering if anyone can tell me what the magic number for the amount of malawi cichlids can be housed in a 120 gallon tank ?

Start with 30 mature fish. Add 2 more every week till you find your fish have problem breathing, then you have two choices, return the 2 extra fish or buy a new tank.

I always find this question hard to answer. We tend to buy too many juveniles that outgrows our tank. Another way to answer your question would be by suggesting that you consider the maximum size of the fish you intend to get and allow 1" of fish per 2 gal or 1" per gal if you want to go the overpopulated way.
