filter problems

Hi,

My Ehiem filter of 3 years doesn't pump water anymore, it starts and then there is noise and water stops flowing.

I took out my fluval 404 and broke the stick that goes in the impeller so  Iordered some and now have a impeller shaft assembly, only problem is I can't figure out how to assemble it, it just doesn't fit in

Help my poor fish have been in their tank with only a air bubble stick for a long time

For your Eheim filter.....could there be an air bubble at the top? If there is air between the top of the water and the pump it won't work.  I don't know which Eheim you have but with my Pro II I had a problem getting it going once and I added water to it (down the intake pipe) and it started up just fine afterwards.
