Automatic Feeders

Does any one out there have one, and would they recommend the one they own.

I got a used one that came with my tank a few years ago.  I tried it, was unimpressed, threw it out.

They almost always overfeed anyways.

I have one but only use it at christmas time.  I set it to the lowest setting, so it will not over feed.   I doesn't work well but I can leave for a week and know that the fish are eating something.  Better than nothing.

The Eheim feeders get pretty good ratings.... but they aren't exactly cheap.

I have an ehiem and a nutrafin.  The ehiem works  a lot better and is worth the extra $

I am currently away from home (for the weekend) and running 3 LifeGuard Auto feeders. With these you control the feedings 1-4 times per day and if you don't use the hopper (the hopper auto feeds the feeder after each pass) you can control just how much your fish get and what. I put flakes, bottom feeder discs, shrimp pellets and algae tablets in each compartment some tanks get fed twice others three times... and the beauty of it I got all 3 for way less than half price either at the OVAS auction or through postings in the classified. The down side is the loading of each compartment, a little messy but you get better at it. I miss my fish!
