hola
last week my kribs spawned . monday when i did my bck wash all the eggs were gone so i thught my brigs had eaten them all. well today i look into my tank and see little things wiggling on my driftwood. i look closer and lo and behold there are fry. needless to say im absolutly ecstatic. now im worried about caring for theem since i was not prepared at all.right now i have a big ball of riccia covering my fiter intke nd most of the tank surface. will they feed on the infusori it produces or should i feed them something and in how long sould i start feeding crushed flakes. thanks

(im so darn happy im dancing as i write this :D  :D  :D )

They will eat nothing until there egg sacks are depleted.  When they stop wriggling and start swimming, its because they are now looking for food.

Infusoria is good... but you should suppliment with some kind of fry food.  Baby brine shrimp is a good live food to start with... or microworms ... Crushed flake, Hikari First Bites are good commercial products.

I know this feeling. Every time you managed to breed new fish you feel so happy... When they breed for X-th time you start to think when they will stop doing it.
Concerning kribs fry - they are big enough to start from something bigger than infusoria. They actually good in picking algae besides everything else. If they are in the same tank with parents, I usually do not feed them at all, flake food that reach the bottom and algae is pretty much for them. When taking them into separate tank, I sometimes give them BBS, but keep in mind if they will get used to live fod, it will be difficult to switch to dry one...
And don't be afraid - kribs will fight for their children. I will be afraid for everyone else in the tank, but not kribs :)

Congrats, once again!

P.S. I at last managed to sell my last Pelvic. pulcher  :D , but now have the third "breed" of taeniatus, and they are not planning to stop, what they are doing

well the fry are swimming all aroud the tank following their parent so i guess they already resoorbed their egg sac.so i can feed the parents normal food and just add crushed flakes?another thing. this is not for now but the only spare tank i have is a 10g with i dwarf gourami. could i move the fry there until they are big enough to sell?i menawhen tey are large enough to fend for themselves. what size can i do this safely?

Don't add much or you possibly pollute the water. Just feed evrybody in the tank a usual and parents will locate where the food is and move fry there.

I prefer to take fry out from parents after 5-10 days. I triedto get them the same day the start swimming  and this was real shock to them - they refused to eat for a day or two. And after 10 days some of them become so confident, that sometimes I saw them swimming separatly from parents, as if there are no other fish in tank...
So, not sure waht the size gourami you have in 10G, but I would not put them with other adult fish. Better leave with parents in this case. Yes you will end up with less juvies, but at least you will be able to watch the fry-parents behavior, which is extraodinary (IMO)

cool.i guess ill try to keep them with the parents until they start dissapearing. the gourami is 5 cms. wil it be ok when they reach 3/4 inches?
