Did anyone try this beast? I am tempted to buy one on eBay to see if this will make my tangs happier.

I have the magnum 8. I like it. but what i dont like with the magnum, you cant put any wavemakers on it
But you can with the Evolutions one

i guess it doesnt matter in an African tank

I have a pair of magnum 8's. You can pick them up at a reasonable price used. They seem to pump well, a little bit of a humming noise though.
Not rattling but like a 60 hz hum kinda sound. I ran both of them in my DT and ended up removing one of them to reduce the noise.
I'm sure the 5's will have similar results.

I bought two Hydor Koralia Magnum 5. Still waiting for them to arrive.

Now I'm thinking of getting a wavemaker to hook up these 2 pumps.

Checked this beast on eBay: Hydor Koralia Wavemaker Controller 2-Way , but it's USD$ 240.
Is there anything cheaper that will do the same job?
